[gst-devel] where is library gst.h?

maybe somebody can help me,

I saw in gstreamer docs some code, all of then have a library gst.h
( #include /gst/gst.h ) .

I'd like to try to compile something but I need that library and I have  
not idea
where I can find it.

I installed gstreamer-0.8 and gstreamer-editor, I made a link in  
usr/include/
pointing to /usr/include/gstreamer-0.8/gst but that (maybe its an stupid  
thing)
does not work.

I hope somebody can help me with some idea (what install, etc.)

I am working with linux debian sarge with fluxbox.
