About these _bufferalloc/passthrough changes:
I've submitted a patch some time ago (see
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=300932)
to implement this in 0.8. Won't this patch be accepted in 0.9? 
Now every plugin needs to implement a "proxy" _bufferalloc?

btw, how work the porting of patch between 0.8 and 0.9?
If i change something in 0.8, should i apply the same patch to 0.9 ?
Or we'll review all patches applied to 0.8cvs when 0.9 will be
ready for daily usage?
