[gst-devel] example avi to mpeg encoder

hello,
a gstreamer newbie searching for an example of how to code an avi to mpeg 
encoder.
I have found a gst-lauch pipeline that works, but i am too new to gstreamer 
to convert the gst-launch pipeline to code. could i get someone to show an 
example of how to convert a divx avi to mpeg1 or give a pretty good 
description of what i need to do to accomplish this with gstreamer..
