[gst-devel] GStreamer-alsa - does it utilize libalsa ?

On my notebook, Amarok, Totem, etc gives me sometimes quite choppy sound 
with GStreamer engine.

It seems to me, that it happens when music is digitised with lesser 
frequency than 44,1 natural to my AC97. And i hoped libalsa, having a 
database of all the known soundcards, should automatically do 
re-quntisation, etc.

What might make music playing choppy ?
