[gst-devel] gstreamer over vnc

Hi,
I am trying to use a vnc viewer to play audio (through the soundcard on the host machine) on a machine running fedora core 5.  It seems i'm having some kind of permissions problem.  for example when trying to use bmpx i get the error

error [element: sink]
gstalsasink.c(778): gst_alsasink_open (): /pipeline_file/sink: Playback open error: Permission denied

I should point out that it runs fine if i log into the machine directly.
If anyone could shed any light on this i would be very greatful
