GStreamer itself is already fairly good at cross-platform: There are
people using it on Windows and OS X as well as Linux, Solaris and BSDs.

The part that's less well developed are native audio/video outputs for
some platforms - there are direct-thingy sinks for windows, but they're
not as polished as the X-Windows/Unix outputs.
