Hear, hear. There are a whole host of things folks regularly do with audio
data other than collecting it from a microphone or outputting it to
loudspeakers. Being able to chain a half a dozen apps together to process
it is important. It's also the "Unix Way". ... but isn't that the point of 
GStreamer? (which is another argument in favour of having working JACK 
plugins).
