[gst-devel] how can i get the info of current volume settings?

Hi, all 

I am a newbie here :), and I am wondering whether there's a way I can
retrieve the audio settings from gnome-volume-control and latter set
them back without modifying the gnome-volume-control code?

In this way, I may be able to retrieve my preferred settings sometime.
