[gst-devel] plugins-good configure fails on FC6 finding liboil

Hi - I'm new to gstreamer 
 
when attempting to build gst-plugins-good-0.10.6  on Fedora 6
 
./configure fails with 
 
configure: error: liboil-0.3 is required
 
but it exists in /usr/lib/liboil-0.3.so.0
 
can anyone offer  a suggestion on how to fix this?  add a link in /usr/lib
???
