Yes, there is a DirectShow decoder wrapper and it's working fine.
It's already wrapping most of the Windows system codecs.
It's actually owned by songbird but it should become public soon.

on Windows, it compiles fine with msys/mingw

I have installed ffmpeg + lots of other multiplatform codecs. I know that
there is a directshow plugin somewhere, but it's not working, afaik.
