[gst-devel] volume control

Hi!
how can I control volume in gstreamer?
I tried compiling and running the mixer example which uses the volenv
element.
But, when I try to run "mixer", it bails out with the following message -
"** ERROR **: file mixer.c: line 285 (create_input_channel): assertion
failed: (channel->volenv != NULL)"

Can you please throw some light on this.
