Are you using the latest cvs version?

gst-launch-0.10 rfbsrc host=192.168.100.109 ! ffmpegcolorspace ! xvimagesink

should be enough.

This should be fixed in the cvs version.
If you are using this version please provide more gstreamer feedback.
