I dind't read that you already compiled the gstreamer core.
You may need to export the the following flags:
CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/include"
LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/lib"
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig
