I've tried doing that in a callback with the following pipelines:

v4l2rc -> ffenc_mpeg4 -> ffdec_mpeg4 -> xvimagesink
v4l2rc -> xvimagesink
jackaudiosrc -> jackaudiosink
videotestsrc -> ffenc_mpeg4 -> ffdec_mpeg4 -> xvimagesink

and every time I get:

live == false
min latency: 0:00:00.000000000
max latency: 99:99:99.999999999 (which I'm told == GST_CLOCK_TIME_NONE)

Any tips? I'm trying to figure out the amount of time it takes latency
there is when streaming
video and audio from one machine to another over rtp if that helps.
