No, not all people are fine with the current release procedure. But it's really 
just small (but annoying) details that are easy to fix.

The CVS way for tags was that "you can't have . characters in them", so the 
outcome was the ugly RELEASE_0_10_14. Now git not only let's you use dots 
(which is obviously good for consistency), but there's also a sane guideline 
for versioned release tags: v0.10.14. This is what git.git and kernel does. 
Some git tools treat these tags a bit differently. It looks nice. It's what 
people new to GStreamer expect the tags to be (since it's in git!). Why argue 
about this?
