[gst-devel] How to make a debug build of gstreamer and its plugins?

Hi,

I stepped in the gstreamer source code, but sometimes the debugger pointed
to some totally unrelated locations and many local variables are optimized
out. 

How can I make a debug build to get more accurate debugging information?

I checked configure script. It seems that by default debug is already
enabled, but I have to admit that I am new to linux, and do not quite
understand things like configure, and makefile generation.
