[gst-devel] Why does qtdemux limit number of streams to 8?

When using the playbin2 element to playback an mp4 file that contains
many streams I get the warning message:

"This file contains too many streams. Only playing first 8"

If modified qtdemux.c on my local machine so that it supports up to 64
streams and I was able to playback files that contain 50+ streams. The
playbin2's track selection feature works fine as well.

So if it works with a high number then why this limitation?
