[gst-devel] Return codes

I've noticed the documentation for several of the gst... functions that
return something besides a boolean or a coded status, say they return a
pointer to this or an instance of that, but never say what they return if
they fail.  I'd expect NULL to be the error indicator.  Is this the case or
is that an item we ought to think of adding to the bug list?
