Hi,
While I can work around this problem easily enough, I'm curious as to
the cause and wondering if anyone here may know.
The system in place here is quite confusing, but it seems calling
snd_pcm_ioplug_close() causes a segfault.
The alsa plugin in question appears to be the PA plugin and the _close()
call itself comes via gst_alsasink_close()
Now I fully appreciate that using gst_alsasink for a PA based system is
not the ideal route (this is why I say I can work around the problem and
in the typical case, I do), but I'd still like to understand why this
happens.
The first backtrace on this bug is as good as the others and the rest of
the bug is pretty much a storm of "me too"'s and me trying to explain
that the codepath itself should be avoided completely if things are
compiled/packaged correctly, so probably not worth anyone looking too
deeply at the report.

I'm just really interested in anyone having a "a yes, it's this bug
...." type replies!
Thanks for your time
