Reproduced, probably with a very different FFmpeg version. Gstreamer
feeds the mpeg4 decoder (ffmpeg's in my) data it doesn't understand. I
see lot's of decoding errors. The same FFmpeg command with mpeg2video as
-vcodec works as expected.

It looks like GStreamer and FFmpeg disagree about the bitstream format.
