How to get duration information from pipeline?

Hello all,

I want to get duration information from gstreamer piptline. I have written a
gstreamer application where in I am dumping outputs to file(pcm) using
filesink. If I use gst_element_query_duration, am not able to get duration
information. The same works if I use alsasink. Can anyone help me out?
