Actually, work is progressing over at github: https://github.com/ossbuild 

We're partway through moving the build process to jhbuild. Our first step
was creating a coherent, sane build system and that's what ossbuild-env is.
I have a link on the forums under announcements to the ossbuild-env
installer. That's why you haven't seen much work lately on the google code
site.
