Building qtgstreamer on mac. Fails to locate homebrew-installed gstreamer :/

Hi All

I am just getting started with both gstreamer and qtgstreamer. They are 
somehow installed by admin in my work linux environment and I am trying 
to bring them to my home mac.

I am using homebrew as the mac's package manager and it was able to 
successfully install gstreamer.. sort of.
When trying to follow the qtgstreamer building instructions, cmake tells 
me that it cannot locate gstreamer and that error seems to be specific 
exactly to gstreamer (same cmake is perfectly able to locate 
homebrew-installed Doxygen).

Has anybody experienced anything similar? Where to start digging from?
