Unable to compile gst-plugins-ugly-0.10.18

Hi, 

I am trying to compile "gst-plugins-ugly-1.10.18" on Emerald Lake. 
But this gives the following error: 
/*********************************************/
/usr/bin/ld:.libs/libgstasf.ver:2: syntax error in VERSION script
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
/*********************************************/

Though I could compile the same package without any errors on SandyBridge.

What could be the problem? All other gstreamer packages compiled without any
problem.

PS:
Kernel : 3.1
OS :Fedora Core 16 (64 bit)
gst-plugins-ulgly version : 0.10.18
