The other day I run some perf tests with cachegrind after reading a mail in
the ML complaining about perforrmance issues. I just remind the rough
numbers but just the colorspace conversion I420->GRBA was using around 60M
CPU cycles compared to the 20M CPU used by the optimized one, so for my
CPU it was more or less 3x times slower.
