A way to prioritize element in addition to rank?

Hi,
I am working on gst-0.10.36 I have my own vp8 decoder element which is of
primary rank.

I want standard gst players to pick up my element instead of the vp8dec (a
bad plugin).

But they all pick vp8dec since it too is of primary rank.

Is there any other way/environment variable/config file to make sure my
element is chosen?
