I added updates-testing to my YUM repos - but it still does not list
version 1.0.5.
I followed the link below and found that I can download the RPM for both
gstreamer-core and plugins-base.
According to YUM, the packages I currently have installed are:
* gstreamer1.x86_64 1.0.4-1.fc18 @updates
* gstreamer1-devel.x86_64 1.0.4-1.fc18 @updates
* gstreamer1-devel-docs.noarch 1.0.4-1.fc18 @updates
* gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free.x86_64 1.0.4-1.fc18 @updates
* gstreamer1-plugins-base.x86_64 1.0.4-1.fc18 @updates
* gstreamer1-plugins-base-devel-docs.noarch 1.0.4-1.fc18 @updates
* gstreamer1-plugins-good.x86_64 1.0.4-1.fc18 @updates
The packages I have downloaded are
* gstreamer1-plugins-base-1.0.5-2.fc18.x86_64.rpm
* gstreamer1-1.0.5-1.fc18.x86_64.rpm
When I tried to use YUM to do a localinstall of gstreamer (only) I got
this message
Protected multilib versions: gstreamer1-1.0.4-1.fc18.i686 !=
gstreamer1-1.0.5-1.fc18.x86_64
1) I do not understand why the message refers to "i686"
2) What do I need to do to upgrade my software?
