capsfilter as an element?

Is there any reason I shouldn't just link a capsfilter into a pipeline
as a normal element, and then use g_object_set to set its caps?

I ask because I have a case where I need a bin to have its caps
restricted, and so the last element would seem to have to be a
capsfilter. I don't want to set the filtercaps when I link the bin to
the rest of the pipeline, as this is the only bin that needs it, and
my pipeline builder function wouldn't know that.
