Reference counter when getting EOS

Hello,

I use here gstreamer-sdk with gstreamer-0.10 on a 32-bit debian wheezy.

I've written a decoder element for a network stream, which works
properly under normal conditions.
If the pipeline gets an EOS signal and I shutdown the pipeline, the
reference counter of my decoder element is still 1.
How can I find out, which part doesn't unref my decoder element?
Do I have to do something special if the element gets the EOS signal?
