Problems building from git.

I wasn't aware of the whole gst-uninstalled way of doing things. I started with a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.10, used that method along with build-dep as Stefan suggested, and everything works great! Thanks everyone for the help!

If you run uninstalled - have you set the variables correctly? See Chapter 8 
of the FAQ, gst-uninstalled (a.k.a. gst-head).
