GNonLin will deal with the dynamic linking for you. An transition in
GNonLin would look like:

Composition
----0--------------1-----------------2------------3
P1                 [ smpte operation ]
P2  [     source 1                   ]
P3                 [       source 2               ]

It is most likely the best for video editing with GStreamer. Though you
may be interested in using GES, which makes this a little simpler.
