Thanks for the link Sebastian. I downloaded the .git file at once, 
imported the 1.2.0 gstreamer properties into the vs2012 solution and 
started compiling.

It seems I am missing a file named 'gstglconfig.h' among others. I 
searched all over gstreamer and the downloaded git and came up empty. 
I'm beginning to wonder if it's because I need to revert back to an 
older version of gstreamer to compile and use these plug ins? :S
