Hi there,

A big THANK YOU to all GStreamer developers !

Yesterday took place the ceremony of inauguration of the audio and video
streaming solution I've installed at the Parliament of the Republic of
Vanuatu. The core of this system is the Boxtream Free Software
(currently available at http://depot.univ-nc.nc/sources/, a new website
is in the works) which is built of top of... GStreamer of course !

In addition to the parliament's staff were present the president of the
Parliament, the opposition's speaker, the Deputy Prime Minister, the
Parliament's clerk and the ambassador of France in Vanuatu, who all
tried the software.

This system will be used to stream and archive live sessions of the
Parliament in both audio (currently Ogg/Vorbis) and audio+video
(currently Ogg/Theora+Vorbis) forms.

Next real session will take place in November I believe, and will be
viewable from http://stream.parliament.gov.vu/

Unfortunately due to low bandwidth to the outside of Vanuatu until fiber
optics cable is installed next year, not many foreign clients will be
able to view this live, but a lot of people in Vanuatu will be in OK
viewing conditions.

So GStreamer developers, thanks again, and be proud you're empowering
direct democracy.

bye, and as they say here : Tangkyu tumas !
