What kind of encryption are we talking about here and what other
operations should be done at the same time? I think the only real way
how you can do performance measurements here is by running exactly the
situation you're planning.

If this is about DRM and involves common encryption or dtcp-ip, take a
look at these bugs:

There are no public encryption plugins (obviously) for DRM, but that
infrastructure could help you to make testing simpler.
