gst-typefind is not able to determine H264 (stream-format=avc) elementary stream format

Other than which element? h264parse can convert avc stream format to
byte-stream stream format, so together with h264parse every h264 decoder
should be able to decode the stream.

You can put avc stream-format h264 into MP4, Matroska and FLV at least.
Byte-stream in the MPEG TS/PS containers.
