GStreamer-1.2.1 appsink opencv-2.4.7 buffers and IplImage conversion

Hi David,

Thanks for your time and advice.
I looked at the opencv stuff in gst-plugins-bad and will play with those in
good time, for sure :).

What I'd really like to get to is a deeper understanding of the code I
presented (and/or problems in that) so as to learn from it for future. I'm
hoping there's some basic mistake(s) that I can learn from.
