Almost, yes. It just uses playbin.

If you want to get the pipeline in graphical form, you can set
GST_DEBUG_DUMP_DOT_DIR to some directory and then run gst-launch-1.0
with playbin. It will create some .dot files for the state changes, and
then you can run dot on it to convert it to SVG, PNG or whatever. More
details in the docs.
