Does it work for you with gst-plugins-base/tests/examples/playback ?
That one is more or less the reference implementation of all kinds of
special playback features. If that also does not work, please report a
bug in Bugzilla. Otherwise we should start comparing what you do
different in your application and then fix the documentation :)
