Add clockoverlay without reencode, is this possibile?

What about creating a subtitle file with some timestamps/checkpoints, this
way they can be together and overlaid with the timestamps in most of the
media players.

The issue is that you would need:
1) a Codec that preserves the alpha channel (flash? not in gstreamer I
guess)
2) a Muxer that let you insert both video streams
3) a media Player that renders both streams together
