install gstreamer from git on ubuntu

Hi,

 

I've understood that the ppa for Ubuntu is not longer maintained.

Now I tried to install the latest version from the git with git clone,
autogen, make and make install.

But now I have two different version of gstreamer on my system.

Is there a way to install gstreamer on Ubuntu in the same directory as the
original version?
