gstreamer video pipeline

I am using below gstreamer pipeline 
On startup, observed some junk data/flicker. 

 /* 
     *                           /---> queue ---> vp8dec    ---> appsink   
// videopart
     * filesrc --> matrioskademux
     *                          
     *
     */

Can anyone suggest how to avoid this? I tried to flush the pipeline by using
gst_event_new_flush_start(); & gst_event_new_flush_stop(); but both APIs
return to 0.
