Switch out underlying gstreamer library of QtGStreamer

Is it possible / plausible, to switch out the gstreamer library in Qt5GStreamer. Such that Qt5GStreamer for Android and iOS ?
I would like to do this for a simple mobile / desktop application for displaying movies and audio, streamed for a wireless source.
Such that I can have a single userinterface cross platform.
