git master feature freeze

Hi,

As most of you may have noticed already, it's that time of year again,
where we try to get our act together and actually get a new stable
release out.

To that end, I would like to call for a feature freeze on the git master
branch.

What does that mean? I'm glad you asked!

It means we should try to settle down and focus on stabilising,
bug-fixing and sorting out those blocker bugs.

It's still okay to add a little new property here or a small piece of
library API there, but new plugins, elements, libraries, or components
should really wait for the next cycle now. Same for any intrusive
changes or major refactorings.

If there's anything you feel should really go into 1.6, please bring it
up on IRC and/or add a comment in bugzilla.

Let's try to get 1.6 out by mid-August at the latest, in time for the
hackfest in Montpellier [1]
