Dynamic branch manipulation support in 0.10

Hi,

Let's say we've got a demux element which has audio and video src pads and
branches are added dynamically when the pipeline is already in playing
state. There is 1.x documentation for it but is this a supported
configuration for 0.10 too?

Also, should we first request the state of the new branch to be set to
playing before adding it to the pipeline? So, branch sits in paused until
it's linked and pad is unlocked and then transitions to playing? 

And finally, in a web forum I saw that it's advised to set the async false
for all sinks when doing dynamic manipulation. Is there any such rule
really?
