Intel ismd 1.x plugin?

I'm looking at starting down a task on the feasibility of using gstreamer 1.x for video encoding and decoding on an intel atom ce5300 chipset.  I believe the port from 0.x to 1.x for gstreamer plugins that intel has authored has never officially been completed, but I am wondering if there has been any success or progress made on this front from any other source. Or if there are some serious road blocks anyone knows of that I may encounter going down this road that would be very helpful as well.

I have written some 1.x plugins already (non-intel related) and am mostly comfortable with the gstreamer world.  And I am currently looking at the source for the older plugins wondering just how hard and how much work it would be get them working in 1.x.  If anyone has gone down this road I'd love to hear their story.  Thanks.
