error in doing make for gst-plugins-base_1.4.5

Hi,

On running make command for gst-plugins-base_1.4.5
i am getting following error:

gst-device-monitor.c:208:7: error: unknown type name ‘GstDevice’
       GstDevice *device = devices->data;

also on compiling one gstreamer appsrc example i am
getting the following error:
/usr/lib/libgstbase-1.0.so.0: undefined reference to
`gst_buffer_pool_config_validate_params'

Is there anything i am missing or my gstreamer installation is miissing
some files
