Hey guys!
Thanks for your answers!
Appending the typelib folder to sys.path did not work.
I just copied my typelibs from /usr/local/lib/girepository-1.0/
to /usr/lib/girepository-1.0/
and now it works.
I assume appending the path to GI_TYPELIB_PATH would have also done the
trick.
