mulawdec question

Hello,
Are there any usage guidelines for the min-latency and tolerance properties of the mulawdec element?
It's not quite clear to me [from the inspect info] when I would want to use them or how would I determine their values? Unfortunately, your documentation of this element from the good plugins reference manual doesn't describe these properties at all.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated.
