Plugin rtspsrc 1.4.1 doesn't teardown media session on server. Why?

So, I have 2 options:

A) update my client to use GStreamer 1.8.1. But it will impact my code in
several points. The work will not be simple, I guess.

B) try to fix the bug in version 1.4.1 on my own. For this idea, I could
take a look in the code that fixed it in some newer version e try to bring
such solution to version 1.4.1 in my environment.

Where can I find the patch or code example that fixed this specific bug and
will be an example for me? I would like to take a look. 
Do you think the option (B) is practicable?

Any hint will be very helpful!
