Encode YUV420 buffer with appsrc

I surfed around. However, I'm not able to figure out call to add
GstVideoMeta to appsrc - could you please specify what is call to add
GstVideoMeta to appsrc ?

Will it be gst_app_src_push_buffer() ? However this function does not seem
to take GstVideoMeta as input -

GstFlowReturn
gst_app_src_push_buffer (GstAppSrc *appsrc,
                         GstBuffer *buffer);
